Meet some of the people at Voice Technologies who are here to help you with enquiries, project planning, implementation, training and support.
Chief Executive Officer
James has worked in a variety of roles at Voice Technologies, becoming CEO in 2015. His key responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations and resources as well as creating an environment that provides learning and development opportunities for individuals and teams at every level.
James views staying close to customers, understanding their challenges and working in partnership with them to deliver successful solutions as fundamental to his role and to the company’s culture.
John was appointed Chair of the Board in December 2017.
He holds Director and Chair roles at several market-leading companies involved in healthcare, construction, education, events and music. He is an Honorary Professor of Business at Glasgow Caledonian University and has been a member of the Court of University of the West of Scotland.
John’s keen interest in supporting young people led to him winning the Youth Business International Mentor of the Year Award 2011 (15,000 entries) and being National Awards Judge for the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust.
Founding Director & Employee Trustee
Heather founded Voice Technologies in 1996. Previously, she had been involved with the speech industry for 10 years, rising to be Dictaphone's top salesperson in 1995. Her current role involves attendance at Board meetings as a Director and Trustee.
Since the early days, Heather’s vision has been to make Voice Technologies distinctive in terms innovation and excellence in customer service. The numerous awards the company have received are testament to the team’s commitment and sustained focus in these areas.
Service Desk Manager
Sam oversees Voice Technologies’ Support function. He is responsible for maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring the service desk team responds to calls within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and customers’ critical issues are escalated when necessary so that they receive the appropriate level of response.
Sam manages the service desk team’s development and keeps up-to-date with new hardware and software products. He continually reviews our service desk processes to ensure the team works as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Software Developer & Employee Director
Richard is responsible for maintaining WinvoicePro and all its peripheral applications, including importation and distribution interfaces, the bulk verify add-in, and multiple web sites, such as, mobile edit, document web service, and contacts manager to name a few. He is also heavily involved in developing FormStream, our e-form application, and the Windows tablet offline version.
As an Employee Director, Richard takes part in Board meetings to facilitate two-way communication between employees and the Board. He is responsible for ensuring employees are informed about and involved in decision-making, and have a good understanding of the company’s performance.
Technical Project Lead
Ian joined Voice Technologies after graduating from the University of Huddersfield with a BSc (Hons) in Information Communication Technology. Ian’s key responsibility is project managing our deployments to ensure a smooth transition to our solutions for customers across the wide spectrum of industries Voice Technologies supports.
Ian engages with, and provides guidance to, numerous stakeholders to facilitate and implement standardised ways of working in accordance with IT best practice.
Finance Manager and Employee Trustee
Jeanette is responsible for the company’s accounting activities. Her role covers all aspects of the business; participating in financial accounting, preparation of monthly management accounts, preparing the year end accounts, processing transactions, payroll, expenses, payment of taxes, debt collection, renewal of utilities, renewal of insurances, HR and car fleet and building maintenance.
Jeanette’s wide and varied role gives her an overall view of the business and involves daily communication with clients, colleagues and suppliers.
Marc joined Voice Technologies as a modern apprentice, progressing to a Service Desk Engineer position and then to his current role as Project Manager. He oversees all aspects of our technical projects, ensuring customers’ requirements are fulfilled and projects are delivered to the company’s high standards.
Marc has completed management courses to acquire the skill sets needed for his changing role. His career with Voice Technologies exemplifies the company’s investment in developing its people.
Technical Project Lead
Callum's role involves coordinating clients’ technical requirements with our team to deliver projects that meet our high standards customer care. His remit includes managing the commercial and scheduling aspects of projects.
Callum is responsible for testing applications released by our development team to ensure they integrate correctly with customers' systems. He also facilitates knowledge sharing among colleagues and works with them to design solutions that address challenges faced by our customers.
Senior Account Manager
Martyn is responsible for looking after our customers by ensuring they are fully supported and informed about our latest products and services. He regularly meets existing and new customers to discuss their challenges in everyday working practices and how Voice Technologies can help to overcome them using either its suite of products or developing bespoke solutions.
Martyn has in-depth knowledge of IT and has undertaken Cisco networking and Windows configuration courses to build on his existing IT experience. He has also completed management courses to acquire the skill sets needed for his role.
Technical Project Lead & Employee Director
Andrew has held various roles at Voice Technologies before assuming his current role of Technical Project Lead. It involves assisting new customers with their deployments to ensure they benefit fully from our solutions. He is also responsible for maintaining strong customer relationships with existing clients and is the account manager for several NHS Trusts in England.
In 2015, Andrew was elected as an Employee Director which involves taking part in Board meetings, facilitating two-way communication between employees and the Board, ensuring employees are informed about and involved in decision-making, and that everyone has a good understanding of the company’s performance.
Software Development Manager
Colin is responsible for liaising with customers to discuss challenges they are experiencing in their everyday working lives and how Voice Technologies can help to overcome them using its existing software products, or by developing new processes, interfaces or applications. Colin also assists with the implementation of these products, helping to ensure a smooth transition between clients’ current processes and applications to our solutions.
