Voice Technologies won’t be the only organisation to benefit from its chairman’s expertise – Alan MacDonald has also been appointed to the council of the UK dental regulator.
Alan will take office in October as one of 12 lay members who will help steer the General Dental Council, alongside 12 professional members who also comprise the organisation’s council.
As well as being chairman of Voice Technologies, Alan MacDonald, a qualified solicitor, is currently Deputy Chief Executive of Dunadd Asset Management Ltd, an FSA approved firm of fund managers. He is also a part-time consultant for Pattison & Sim, Solicitors.
Until recently, he was Managing Partner with McFadyen & Semple, Solicitors and also Vice Chairman of the Board and Chair of Audit Committee Scottish Enterprise Renfrewshire, a Public Sector organisation with a £20m budget responsible for economic development.
Heather Wylie, Managing Director of Voice Technologies, said: “This is recognition of Alan’s expertise that he has been chosen for such a role. It demonstrates his value, and I’m sure that the dental regulator will be all the better for his contribution, as is Voice Technologies.”
Alan MacDonald said: “I am delighted to be appointed to this important role, I hope my experience will help the GDC continue its vital role in maintaining standards in the dental profession and protecting the public.”
