Software eases letter writing for hospitals
Software developed by Voice Technologies that makes it easier to turn dictation into correspondence has been launched in hospitals across the UK.
Ninewells Hospital in Dundee and Homerton University Hospital in London are now using WinVoicePro, with Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary in Dumfries to follow shortly.
The software works with digital dictation system WinScribe to automatically populate letters with information taken from external record systems.
The benefits of the system include saving organisations time and money, and helping to meet targets, such as the 18-week referral to treatment pathway in the NHS across the UK.
Although WinVoicePro has been initially developed for the NHS, it can be applied for any user of WinScribe, such as law firms, local government departments or surveying firms.
Voice Technologies Managing Director Heather Wylie said: “It a unique system – there is nothing quite like it on the market. It is simple to use and delivers significant results straight away. Even though it is early days in the life of WinVoicePro, many people have already praised it. They say it’s a winner.”
