NHS Shetland – Better Technology for Better Communication across the Board

The 23,000 residents of Shetland are spread across 16 inhabited islands. The remote and isolate nature of the lifestyle afforded creates challenging communication links and this is of great concern to the NHS and their patients. Important clinical information must traverse the islands and get to the places and people of real need without delay.

Voice Technologies are the Framework supplier for Digital Dictation and Speech Recognition technologies for the whole of NHS Scotland. At the core of this framework is Voice Technologies WinVoice Pro Clinical Correspondence module – existing, proven technology which integrates which the UK’s leading Patient Administration and Electronic Delivery Systems. By connecting together existing technology, including SCI Store and EDT Docman, the Health Board will open new and effective communication channels between the acute and community arms of NHS Shetland and will advance the patient care of its residents.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank and welcome NHS Shetland and we look forward to working closely with you in the future.
